Here is some information that will help you in locating us:

  • (Click here to locate NCFL in Google Maps) These directions take you to Kraft Drive. On Kraft Drive, look for the ICTAS and ILSB signs. Drive into the lane marked by these signs – NCFL is located at the back of the parking lot.

Directions from campus: Drive up Tech Center Drive toward the CRC. Turn right on Kraft Drive. Turn left at the third entry, where you will see signs for ICTAS and ILSB. The building is located at the back of the parking lot.
Blacksburg Transit operates an express route between the CRC and the university’s central campus. The bus runs every 15 minutes between the hours of 7:15 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday (30 minute frequency from 6:30 p.m. until end of service at 9:45 p.m.). Traveling to Blacksburg

By Air

The nearest Airport is Roanoke Regional Airport (ROA). Travelers can find connecting flights to/from major hubs like Charlotte (CLT), Philadelphia (PHL) , O’Hare International Airport, Chicago (ORD), & Dulles International Airport (IAD). All hubs are at a flight distance of about 1 hour from Roanoke. Blacksburg is 45 minutes from Roanoke thereafter, by road.

By Road

Blacksburg is at a commutable distance from Roanoke.

It takes approximately 4 hours 45 min from Washington DC along I-81 & 2 hours 30 minutes from Charlotte, NC along I-77 . Megabus Service is available from Washington DC at a nominal fee.

Blacksburg has a number of choices in accomodation to suit a wide range of budgets and duration of stay.The Inn at Virginia Techis a University owned subsidiary, which provides excellent stay and connectivity. Holiday InnHawthorne Suites & Marriott in Blacksburg are also well suited for short stays with a proximity to VT Main campus. The Red Carpet Inn is a budget hotel, which could be considered for longer stays. There are several options for Car-rentals. Parking is provided for at the hotels/inns, and visitors may intimate us in advance, to help them with Parking slots in University.

Basic amenities are available in Blacksburg City center. Kroger’s and Walmart are close as well. A complete city map can be found here.
Blacksburg has its own bus service, BT Transit , and all corners of the town are well-connected by it, with the central hub being Virginia Tech campus. Visitor’s can obtain day-passes, or weekly pass for ease of travel. Information on routes can be obtained on the BT Transit’s homepage.
